We provide Private GP consultations, in person at our clinics. A 30 minute appointment costs £99 and provides you with the time for a full discussion of your problems or concerns and examination, without the time pressure of a standard NHS appointment. Our GPs are able to assess you, check you vital signs, diagnose and treat you. A comprehensive range of blood tests can be undertaken during your appointment if required.
We also provide GP consultations by telephone or video. Our highly experienced GPs can provide you with full assessment and treatment from the comfort of your own home, we can also arrange tests and prescribe treatment for you. Virtual appointments are available 365 days per year, providing you with the care you need, when you want it. Book online, or call 9am-7pm, Monday to Friday.
We also provide a comprehensive range of health checks, assessments and tailored packages of care from our clinic sites.
We do not currently provide COVID-19 testing, but may do in future.

We can deal with medical problems that need attention on the same day but Practice Plus Private is not an emergency service. If your condition changes whilst you are waiting for our call or visit, you should contact 111. If you feel seriously unwell, have chest pain or difficulty breathing and/or consider the situation an emergency please call 999.
Yes, the virtual consultation will work on your computer, tablet or smart phone. Ensure you select 'front camera' and accept the permissions before you connect.
If you need specialist care we can refer you to a private provider of your choice. If you have private insurance we suggest you contact them for a list of providers which are covered by your insurance. If you want assistance in choosing a specialist or secondary care provider our team will be able to support you in this.
We cannot refer directly to NHS secondary care, if you require specialist or secondary care and prefer to receive this from the NHS, following consultation, we can write to your normal GP advising them to make the referral on your behalf.
Your clinician will advise you during your appointment if follow-up appointments are necessary. In many cases the clinician will book these directly with you. We do not currently have an official subscription offer, but if you plan to make a series of appointments, please discuss your requirements with our team and we will look to develop a bespoke package for you.
If you are having any tests done by our laboratory partner, your clinician will advise you when the results will be returned. Testing times vary depending on the analysis required. Your clinician will also discuss with you how you will be informed of the results. This might include a follow up call, or normal results being emailed or sent by text to you without the need for a follow up call.
You are able to amend or cancel any appointment by giving us at least 24 hours' notice. After this time it will be at our discretion to amend the appointment and/or offer a full or part refund.
We plan to call you at your booked telephone/video consultation appointment time, however we could call you up to 10 minutes after. If no contact is made with the first call, we will attempt to call you another two times, every 5 minutes within 10 minutes of our missed call. If you are not contactable within this time period it will be at our discretion to amend the appointment and/or offer a full or part refund.
If you have COVID-19 symptoms and want to arrange a consultation about this or something else, then you can book a telephone or video consultation with one of our GPs. Please do not book a face to face appointment at our clinic as we will not be able to see you if you are symptomatic.
We recommend that you give us consent to share details of your consultation with your normal GP, however if you do not want us to then this is normally fine. Our new patient questionnaire will ask you whether we have your permission to share with your normal GP or not.
There are circumstances where we may need to ask you this question again, for example if we are prescribing you a medication which has a risk of side effects or interactions with other medications. You will be under no obligation for us to share with your GP but in some limited circumstances we may not be able to prescribe some medication without speaking to your normal GP first.
We also have a duty of care to you, if there is ever the situation where there is risk of you harming yourself or others, we may have to share this information with your normal GP and other agencies.
We do not share your personal records unless you ask us to. You will be provided with full notes by email after your consultation.
We are currently unable to accept payment from health insurance providers but we advise you to check with your insurer, as some may reimburse you for the cost of your consultation.

All our GPs are highly experienced, and all currently also work in the NHS. All our doctors are registered with the General Medical Council (GMC). This organisation is responsible for ensuring patient safety and setting standards of GP care in the UK.
We collect regular patient feedback on all doctors/nurses and only use those that achieve outstanding satisfaction scores.

If we are running more than 20 minutes late we will call you to notify you that we are running late, if it is over 30 minutes then we will give you the option to reschedule or offer you a full refund if the appointment is no longer required.
We do not charge extra for issuing prescriptions and referral letters provided during your consultation. Please note however that the pharmacy will charge you the full cost price of your medication and non-NHS prescription charge. You may wish to check the prescription cost with your pharmacy prior to dispensing.
If you require a repeat prescription without a consultation there will be an administration fee for issuing the prescription.
Prices of investigations/tests are not included in our standard GP appointment fee. The doctor will be able to advise you regarding the most appropriate investigation/test options.

Our doctors can address as many concerns as you like in your appointment, and we offer different appointment lengths to enable you to choose a longer appointment if you know you are going to need more time.
If you feel you need a longer consultation, you can choose a longer appointment at the time of booking.
If, despite booking a short appointment more time is required, we will endeavour to make this available to you. Extra time is only available in 15 minute or 30 minute intervals and there will be a charge for this.

We use the latest security measures to protect your data. All data is transmitted over encrypted https. We do not store any patient credit card details. All card processing is carried out via Stripe, a world leading PCI compliant specialist payment provider.
Payment will be taken at the time of booking whether the booking is made online on our website or over the telephone.

Yes, our GPs can write you a prescription if you require medication. Please note however that the pharmacy will charge you the full cost price of your medication and non-NHS prescription charge. You may wish to check the prescription cost with your pharmacy prior to dispensing.
There are a few medications which are at risk of misuse, for example, some strong pain killers, our GPs will only prescribe these medications if clinically necessary, and only after speaking to your normal GP practice. If the medication you require is one that can be misused our GP will need to see photo ID before prescribing. If your appointment is a telephone call, the GP will need to convert your appointment to a video call to check your ID.
