GP services

Private GP visits, testing, treatment, healthcare and support in the comfort and safety of your own home.

Practice Plus Private provides high-quality private healthcare in your home. Our skilled and experienced private GPs provide general medical advice, diagnosis, symptom management, and sensitive support for anxiety, depression and mental wellbeing.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many patients have found it difficult to get face-to-face appointments with their GPs. We also know that some people are nervous about visiting healthcare premises or might be overlooking their own health and wellbeing because they don’t want to burden services in a time of crisis. Practice Plus Private offers friendly medical care and advice in your home at a time of day that suits you. Our GP home visits give you at least 30 minutes with the doctors and are often available same-day.

Expert healthcare, when you need it

With Practice Plus Private there’s no queueing or hanging on the phone. You can book appointments simply online. Alternatively, phone our team between 8am and 8pm, seven days a week and you’ll get straight through. You can arrange a consultation, ask a question or discuss your concerns.

Appointments available (including home visits), 365 days a year

The Practice Plus Private GP service is flexible, responsive and accessible. If you have developed new symptoms, want to discuss an existing condition, are worried about COVID-19, stressed, sick or struggling, you don’t need to wait - our doctors can help, providing medical care and support in your home every day of the year.

All our home visits include 30 minutes with the GP, and you can book longer appointments if needed, so that there is time to discuss all of your health and wellbeing concerns in detail.

Telephone and video consultations

Practice Plus Private offers same-day telephone and video appointments with a GP. You can discuss any health problems and worries straight away. Our GPs can diagnose many conditions during a telephone or video consultation, as well as arranging tests or prescribing treatment.

If your condition needs to be seen by a GP, we can arrange that for you. If you want our doctor to come to your home, we guarantee face-to-face appointments within 48 hours.

You can choose to have your appointment by telephone or video at the time of booking.  If you choose a telephone appointment but then during the consultation, in discussion with our GP, you decide that it would be better to complete the consultation by video, we can simply send you a link to change to video – it’s as simple as that!

What areas do Practice Plus Private GPs cover?

Our home visiting service covers most parts of Southwest and West London.

COVID-safe service

All face-to-face GP appointments take place in the comfort and safety of your own home. Our doctors wear full PPE, which is changed between every visit. Any equipment is meticulously sanitised, and all health professionals are screened for infection weekly using rapid-result tests to ensure your COVID-19 safety.

GP appointment and COVID-19 test

If you have requested a GP home visit, you can also request a COVID-19 test in the same appointment, as long as you don’t have COVID-19 symptoms. The test is offered at a discounted rate, as we have already taken into account your main appointment with the doctor.
If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, we can perform a rapid-anitgen test on your doorstep with results guaranteed on the same day. If you want an appointment for anything else, we can still offer you a telephone or video appointment, but we will not be able to come into your house if you have COVID-19 symptoms.

Mental wellbeing

At a time when COVID-19 poses a risk to our physical health, it’s easy to neglect our emotional wellbeing. However, feelings of stress, anxiety and depression can have lasting effects on your health and your ability to work, sleep and live an active and fulfilling life.

Our GPs have extensive experience in treating and supporting people who are experiencing stress and other mental anguish. They will take time to listen to you, offer guidance and recommend evidence-based treatments and techniques to support your recovery.

Our doctors are connected to a network of experienced private consultants and therapists and can make a referral for further specialist care whenever needed.

Tiredness and fatigue

We all get tired from time to time, but fatigue is an overwhelming feeling of tiredness that isn't relieved by resting or sleeping. As many as one in ten people suffer from prolonged fatigue, which can really affect their quality of life.

Anaemia, hormonal disturbances, medical conditions, mental health problems, sleep disorders and viral illnesses can all cause fatigue. If you’re struggling with tiredness, our GPs can diagnose any underlying causes, treat any problems and set you on the road to recovery. Our doctors will work with you to identify any issues, arrange screening tests to check for disease and help you regain your fitness and energy.
